From -- Kaleb the "Bible Dude"

Hey parents!

We’ve had another amazing week at RSA as we continued diving into God’s Word and discovering more about who He is. Our theme this week was God is Good, and campers explored the goodness of God through creation, His gifts, and even how He works through hard things in our lives.

Our memory verse was Psalm 107:1

"Give thanks to the Lord because He is good. His love continues forever."

Monday – Genesis 1:31

We started with creation and asked, “What’s your favorite thing in nature?” Campers shared everything from sunsets to animals to cool bugs! We used nature props like flowers and rocks to reflect on how everything God made was good. From light and dark to people—each part of creation shows His goodness. Campers especially loved hearing that they were made by God—and He said it was very good.

"Everything God made was good—because God is good."

Tuesday – James 1:17

We talked about how “every good and perfect gift comes from God.” Campers listed out some of their favorite “good gifts” — family, friends, snacks, sunshine, and even hugs! We wrote these on a big banner to remind us that these blessings all come from a good God.

Wednesday – Psalm 23 and Luke 15:3–7 (The Lost Sheep)

We reflected on Psalm 23, where David describes God as our shepherd. Like a shepherd cares for his sheep, God provides, protects, and stays close—no matter what we’re going through.

We also shared the parable of the lost sheep and how God will go after just one of us when we feel lost or afraid. Kids loved imagining the shepherd joyfully carrying the lost sheep home. This story reminded us that God’s goodness isn’t just for when we feel strong—it meets us in our struggles too.

The Lord the Shepherd

A song of David.

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd.

I have everything I need.

2 He gives me rest in green pastures.

He leads me to calm water.

3 He gives me new strength.

For the good of his name,

he leads me on paths that are right.

4 Even if I walk

through a very dark valley,

I will not be afraid

because you are with me.

Your rod and your shepherd’s staff comfort me.

5 You prepare a meal for me

in front of my enemies.

You pour oil of blessing on my head.[a]

You give me more than I can hold.

6 Surely your goodness and love will be with me

all my life.

And I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Luke 15:3 Then Jesus told them this story: 4 “Suppose one of you has 100 sheep, but he loses 1 of them. Then he will leave the other 99 sheep alone and go out and look for the lost sheep. The man will keep on searching for the lost sheep until he finds it. 5 And when he finds it, the man is very happy. He puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. He calls to his friends and neighbors and says, ‘Be happy with me because I found my lost sheep!’ 7 In the same way, I tell you there is much joy in heaven when 1 sinner changes his heart. There is more joy for that 1 sinner than there is for 99 good people who don’t need to change.

Thursday – Romans 8:28

“We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people God called, because that was his plan.”

“Have you ever had something bad turn into something good?”

We shared personal stories (like funny sibling fights or hard seasons in life) to help illustrate how God brings good even from pain. Like puzzle pieces, we may not always see the full picture—but God is putting it all together for our good.

"God doesn’t just create good things—He can bring good from hard things too."

Blue Studio Highlight – “Thankful Skit Show”

This week in Blue Studio, campers got super creative with a western-themed skit challenge! Small groups received story prompts like “A cowboy helps a friend in need” or “A prospector finds gold and learns God’s goodness is more valuable.” With cowboy hats, bandanas, and lots of laughter, each group acted out a short skit showing how God's goodness shows up in everyday situations.

After each performance, we talked about how the story showed thankfulness or reflected God's goodness. Whether it was forgiveness, answered prayer, or friendship—these campers nailed it! One group even had a “sheriff” give a sermon to his town about giving thanks!

We wrapped up with this thought:

“Even in the wildest parts of life, God is still good.”

This week helped campers connect that God’s goodness is not only seen in the beauty of the world around us but also in the way He cares for us personally—through gifts, through guidance, and even in our hardest moments.

We encourage you to ask your child:

What part of creation reminds you most of God’s goodness?

What “good gift” are you most thankful for this week?

Which skit made you laugh the most?

Thanks for sharing your awesome campers with us—we can’t wait for Week 3!

With joy and sunshine,

Bible Dude
